Escape Stairs, North Wall

This project involved the design, fabrication and erection of a 30 metre high (8-storey) structural steel escape stairs to the existing Boiler House, ESB North Wall, Dublin. Kilwex engaged Clifton Scannell Emerson Associates, consulting engineers, to complete the structural design. The stairs was founded on a reinforced concrete pad foundation and connected to the existing building, but designed as a free standing structure. The assembly took place in the live power generating station.
